Visiting Scholar Programs

The Stone Center for Latin American Studies, the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research, and The Latin American Library administer several programs that support residencies of visiting scholars at Tulane University.

 

Richard E. Greenleaf Distinguished Chair in Latin American Studies

The Richard E. Greenleaf Distinguished Chair in Latin American Studies brings to campus pre-eminent scholars and professionals, including scientists, writers, artists, and public officials, who are distinguished in their fields and can contribute positively to the Tulane academic community through teaching, research, and interactions with Latin Americanist faculty and students.

Richard E. Greenleaf Scholar-in-Residence

The Richard E. Greenleaf Scholar-in-Residence is a program designed to bring rising, mid-career scholars in Latin American Studies to spend one or two semester(s) at the Stone Center.

Richard E. Greenleaf Distinguished Visiting Scholar

The Richard E. Greenleaf Distinguished Visiting Scholar brings to campus scholars for short periods of time to advance research and scholarly exchanges with faculty affiliated with the Stone Center, and to contribute to the intellectual life of each department and the university.

Visiting Scholars Program

The Visiting Scholars Program occasionally sponsors one or two visiting Latin Americanist doctoral students or scholars who seek a nominal affiliation with Tulane University for purposes of conducting their own independent research. Visiting Scholar applicants must be nominated by a regular Tulane Faculty member affiliated with the Stone Center. This program is uncompensated.
