In this talk, Prof. Marilyn Miller will explore how the Holocaust resonates in Latin American experience and consciousness past and present. Resuscitating examples from a range of fields including history, literature, memoir, and visual art dating from 1939 forward, her talk will show that far from being distant in time or space from Latin America, the Holocaust was and remains vitally present in diverse forms of representation and remembering in the region.
