Join the Latin American Library for the opening of a very special exhibit and reception to mark one hundred years of Tulane’s dedication to Latin American studies. The exhibit, “A distinguished Trajectory: Reshaping Histories at the Latin American Library,” tells the story of Tulane’s longstanding engagement with Latin America through the library’s many treasures. It also highlights how the university’s focus on the region has been shaped by New Orleans’ historical connections with Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The exhibit not only honors the past but also invites reflection on how collective memories are continually redefined by an ever-changing present in the form of new technologies, changing social values and scholarly approaches.
