La charla se enfocará en iluminar los lazos estéticos y la red de vínculos y solidaridades que un puñado de escritoras centroamericanas establecieron entre ellas durante las décadas de 1940 y 1950, haciendo centro en la trayectoria errante de la poeta costarricense Eunice Odio.  Siguiendo con la metáfora abiertamente textil de la red, el propósito de la charla es detenerse en “envés de la urdimbre” del proceso literario latinoamericano del período ya que resulta evidente una vez más que las redes están hechas de los hilos y los nudos pero también de los vacíos y los silencios.

The Latin American Library welcomes three recipients of the 2019 - 2020 Richard E. Greenleaf Fellowship

On Wednesday, November 14, the Latin American Library at Tulane University will host Dr. Hortensia Calvo, Doris Stone Director of the Latin American Library, for a talk titled, Forging a New World: Books & Writing in Early Spanish America, 1492-1821.

The annual Open House at the Latin American Library is an opportunity for the Tulane and greater New Orleans community to come together and celebrate the collections and services at the Latin American Library. For this event, LAL has prepared an exhibit of some recent acquisitions.

The Latin American Library has put together a display of books written by authors participating in the Fall 2019 Latin American Writers Series: Luis Negrón, Power Paola, Alberto Barrera Tyszka, and Gabriela Weiner. All books on display are available for check out. When you visit, be sure to grab a free bookmark commemorating the series!

Weekly structured writing sessions for Latin Americanist graduate students in all departments. Students, who arrive with a project and a goal, work in communal silence during two 45 minute blocks separated by a 10-minute coffee break. All meetings will be held in the Latin American Library Seminar Room. Co-sponsored by the Stone Center and the Latin American Library.
