Stone Center and CCSI to sponsor narrative feature films at the 36th New Orleans Film Festival
Each year, the Stone Center for Latin American Studies and the Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute (CCSI) sponsor two films related to Latin America, the Caribbean, and/or its diaspora. This year, we are sponsoring the featured narrative films Manas and Tropical Park.
The New Orleans Film Festival (NOFF), organized by the New Orleans Film Society, is a renowned celebration of independent filmmaking that has been championing diverse voices and groundbreaking stories for over 36 years. As an Academy Award®-qualifying festival in the Documentary Short, Narrative Short, and Animated Short categories, NOFF serves as a vital platform for emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their work to global audiences.
The Stone Center for Latin American Studies and CCSI have been actively sponsoring NOFF since its 2017 edition, when the festival decided to regularly include Latin American and Caribbean works and filmmakers. The 36th New Orleans Film Festival will take place in person from October 23-27, 2025, and the majority of the lineup will be virtually accessible from October 23 to November 2, 2025, via the NOFF Virtual Cinema.
