"Pathways of Desire" talk with Dr. Hector Carrillo for Tulane's Sociology Colloquium

Join the Sociology Department for their first Sociology Colloquium, featuring Dr. Hector Carrillo. He'll be speaking about his multiple-award winning book, Pathways of Desire: The Sexual Migration of Mexican Gay Men. Dr. Carrillo is a Professor of Sociology and Gender & Sexuality Studies at Northwestern University. His work is at the intersection of the sociology of sexuality, immigration, and health.

Pathways of Desire is an ethnography of "the lives of Mexican gay men who have left their home country to pursue greater sexual autonomy and sexual freedom in the United States." In 2020, it won the American Sociological Association Distinguished Scholarly Book Award.

This talk is supported by the ASA's Sorokin Lecture Grant.
