Students are responsible for researching the requirements and deadlines for scholarships listed below.
The Stone Center offers funding for Tulane graduate and undergraduate students who wish to study a less commonly taught language (LCTL). Priority is given to students applying to participate in our Summer in Brazil or MLI: Kaqchikel programs. For more information, visit the Undergraduate Resources or Graduate Resources page.
Applicants to our Summer in Panama program may be considered for a partial needs-based scholarship. They have the option to opt-in to consideration for these funds during the study abroad application process. There is no separate application form.
The Center for Academic Equity offers a Summer Study Abroad Grant to be used specifically on summer abroad programs offered through Tulane University. This grant helps students with financial gaps receive the support they need. Grant recipients must present their abroad experience upon their return in the Fall. The application deadline is usually around mid-March. Be sure to visit the Center for Academic Equity's web page on Summer Grants and Fellowships for more information.
Newcomb-Tulane College in partnership with the Center for Global education offers grants of up to $2,500 to undergraduate students engaging in international experiences. Applications for summer opportunities are only considered during March/April. Head to the Office of Academic Enrichment webpage on Grants for Academic Enrichment for more grant information and application instructions.
The Office of Study Abroad is happy to offer a limited number of need-based scholarships for summer study abroad. In order to be considered, students must complete their applications by the application deadline. There is not an additional application for these scholarships. Students interested in being considered for a scholarship should select ‘yes’ on the financial aid disclosure form within their application for the program they are applying for. Gilman Scholarship: The Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program awards up to $5,000 each to United States students receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of study abroad. The goal of this program is to provide aid to students traditionally underrepresented in study abroad programs.
Fund for Education Abroad: The mission of the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) is to provide scholarships and ongoing support to students who are underrepresented among the U.S. study-abroad population.
First Trip: First Trip strives to increase diversity in study abroad and international affairs by alleviating inequitable barriers for underrepresented college students to travel abroad for the first time and pursue global careers. Scholarship awards are available for students traveling abroad for the first time to eligible destinations. Applications are reviewed year-round on a rolling basis.
