An April 28 article identifies Gabriela Alemán among a core of young, female Ecuadorian writers whose works redraw the contours of Latin America’s literature. Pointing to publications like Alemán’s novel Poso Wells (recently published in English translation), contributor Jorge Carrión contends that the excellence of these women’s writing portends the dominance of literary voices from once marginalized genders and geographies.
