The Stone Center for Latin American Studies and the Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute are sponsoring the upcoming New Orleans Film Festival showing: Ludi

Ludi, like many immigrants, believes in the ideals of the American Dream: work hard and follow the rules, and good things will follow. And that she does. And like many immigrants, she works as a (underpaid) health care provider. She’s reliable at her job and observes all the work regulations. Always. Conscientious and hardworking, Ludi knows that if she just stays the course, her American Dream will surely be realized. But we all have bad days, and Ludi is having a BAD day. A pushy roommate, judgmental co-workers, and an impatient bus driver are just the tip of the iceberg. However, when an overtime rule at work forces Ludi to break company policy by taking on a side hustle with a tough patient outside of her job, Ludi’s day goes from bad to worse.

Check the NOFF website for more information on the film, location, and tickets.
