Biography
As a PhD student in the Art History and Latin American Studies program at Tulane University, Kaylin Jury explores Indigenous cartographic production in Colonial Mexico. Her work examines the manipulation and interpretation of Indigenous materials and presents Indigenous artists as political agents. While earning her M.A. in Art Business from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, Kaylin addressed the contribution of Indigenous artists and nobles to the 17th-century art market along the Carrera de Indias. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Spanish at Washington and Lee University.
