Jordan Karubian, professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology was awarded by the American Ornithological Society

Each year, the American Ornithological Society (AOS) awards distinctive individuals and groups for their ornithological research, notable contributions to the science and practice of ornithology, and their service to society.  

Jordan Karubian, professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in the School of Science and Engineering, founding member of the Foundation for the Conservation of the Tropical Andes (FCAT), founding director of the Tulane Interdisciplinary Environmental Research and Action Program (TIERA), and Stone Center for Latin American Studies core Faculty, was honored with the 2024 Ralph W. Schreiber Conservation Award. The AOS Ralph W. Schreiber Conservation Award honors extraordinary conservation-related scientific contributions by an individual or small team. Dr. Karubian has been recognized by AOS in the past, winning the AOS Nellie Johnson Baroody Award for Best Student Presentation (2000) and being a two-time AOS student research grantee (1999, 2000).
