Tulane University School of Law professor and affiliate to the Stone Center for Latin American Studies Laila Hlass recently contributed an article titled Trump’s asylum proposal undermines immigrant justice system to The Hill. In the article, Hlass discusses the impact of President Trump’s recent asylum memorandum. Hlass notes that under the current administration’s “proposed regime, asylum-seekers, especially the most vulnerable, will be more likely deported, regardless of the strength of their claim.”
