Grand Opening of the New Orleans Mexican Culture Institute

The Foreign Ministry in Mexico recently appointed New Orleans with the fifth Cultural Institute in the United States. The Consulate of Mexico and the new Mexican Cultural Institute in New Orleans are pleased to announce the new schedule events for the month of March 2018.

March 8 – 11, 2018
Excavators of the Past: Archaeology in Action
As part of the Tulane University Maya Symposium, the Consulate of Mexico and the Mexican Cultural Institute will host a photographic exhibition in collaboration with the Middle American Research Institute, Tulane. The exhibition will present the collections from the Archaeology Department of Tulane University, showing the process of discovering the Maya world. The opening reception is March 8, at 6:00 PM. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

March 22 – May 14, 2018
Decoding the Purity of an Icon
Join us in viewing the paintings and installations by Mexican artist Belinda Flores-Shinshillas in collaboration with the New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. The opening reception is March 22, at 6:00 PM.
