S.S. NOLA, in collaboration with the Latin American Resource Center, will be hosting a professional development opportunity for K-12 educators on Saturday, January 20, 2018, to examine the ways in which educators can utilize and share resources on Latin America in the classroom. Marielle Presente e Futuro: An Artistic Tribute to Marielle Franco

An evening of music and poetry to honor the assassinated Afro-Brazilian human rights activist, Marielle Franco. Special music performances by Leyla McCalla and Michaela Harrison. This fall, join us for La hora del cuento bilingual readings series at the Pebbles Centers of the New Orleans Public Libraries!

On the first and last Saturday of every month, we will read a bilingual book at the Algiers Regional Library and the Children's Resource Center Library beginning on Saturday, August 25 until Saturday, December 29. Children and parents are welcome!

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, please join us at the Audubon Zoo for the 2018 Celebración Latina family festival to explore and celebrate the rich diversity of Latin America. Celebración Latina, presented by Pan-American Life Insurance Group, will be held at the Zoo’s Capital One Stage and Field. It will offer a true taste of the Latin American culture with live music, children's activities, and authentic Latin cuisine prepared and sold by local restaurants.
