Online information session to go over 2023 Summer funding opportunities sponsored through the Stone Center for Latin American Studies for Graduate Students across the university who are conducting research in the Latin American and Caribbean region. During this session, we will not only talk about field research funding opportunities, but also relevant intensive language study funding opportunities. 

This event will launch the TIERA (Tulane Interdisciplinary Environmental Research and Action) program, a rebranded structuring for the Ecuador program. Learn about the exciting research your peers are conducting as we celebrate the newly launched program. There will be food and drink available, and an engaging program to learn more about this program and how you can get involved. Please RSVP on Wavesync!

Joel Guzmán is the COO of the San Juan based Puerto Rican Theater Collective Y no había luz. He is an actor, stuntman, and a culture and arts manager, as well as an artist and educator. With advanced degrees in management and marketing and a certification in Circus Studies, he has dedicated the last 18 years to working with non-profit initiatives in the US and Latin America that transform spaces through the practice of art and performance. With YNHL, he supports the creation of original theatrical and educational workshops for children and adults.

Two special events in New Orleans featuring Celebrated Cuban-American author and architect Hermes Mallea will be co-sponsored by The New Orleans Hispanic Heritage Foundation (NOHHF), Tulane University Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR), and Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute (CCSI), along with The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans (PRC).
