Biography

Argentinian-born and Costa Rican-raised Eugenia holds a Bachelor's and Associate's Degree in Political Science from the University of Costa Rica (UCR). Her research and interests focus on subnational governments and politics, political institutions emphasizing legislative studies, and gender and politics studies.  She is also interested in democratic security and electoral studies. 

Professor and researcher at UCR's School of Political Science and the Center for Research and Political Studies. In her professional experience, Eugenia has also contributed to public policy as a political consultant and legislative advisor. Eugenia was President of the National Association of Political Scientists and International Relations Professionals of Costa Rica from 2020 to 2024.
