As usual we are a sponsor of the NOFF this year and it’s a great lineup. The list of films being sponsored by the Stone Center and the Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute is below. This year there are three ways to watch the festival: virtually, in-person, or both!

Virtually - we are thrilled to announce that all films will be available to the Tulane community for virtual viewing thanks to the New Orleans Film Festival through partnership with Eventive. NOFF is providing access to a new community partner pass especially for Tulane University faculty and students. The pass will allow anyone who signs up for it to stream all the films offered during the New Orleans Film Festival between November 3 -13 in the virtual platform, this includes all the films sponsored by The Stone Center and Cuban and Caribbean Studies Institute. For instructions on how to sign up for this NOFF virtual pass opportunity, please contact Valerie McGinley.

In person – We will have have a limited number of in-person tickets that will be available. The tickets will be on a first come, first serve basis to faculty and students and will need to be picked up in the Stone Center. Look for the announcement for when to pick them up SOON.

Note that you can take advantage of both the in-person and virtual options!

"It Runs in the Family" Sponsored by Caribbean and Cuban Studies Institute

A revelation about Oscar Torres, her unknown and once world-famous queer filmmaker cousin, sends Victoria down a path of self-discovery through reconstructions of his intimate memories living in the 1950s authoritarian Caribbean, as Victoria leads re-enactments of his unproduced screenplays with the family who erased him.

The director, Victoria Linares, will be in attendance – Ana López will moderate the Question and Answer.
