From The Conversation: Tulane history professor Dr. Jana Lipman contributes article discussing Guantanamo Bay
Dr. Jana Lipman, Associate Professor of History at Tulane University, recently contributed an article titled 5 things to know about Guantanamo Bay on its 115th birthday to The Conversation. In the article, Dr. Lipman discusses the history of Guantanamo Bay, the United States’ first overseas military base on 45 square miles of Cuban territory. Dr. Lipman remarks on the nature of the United States’ jurisdiction in the area and the events that lead to the Cuban Revolution that occurred in the near-by town of Guantanamo.
