Applications to the Graduate Program in Latin American Studies for AY21-22 are Open
The application period for the graduate programs based in the Stone Center for Latin American Studies are open. Students have the option of applying for any of the following degree programs:
- MA in Latin American Studies
- Joint MA in Latin American Studies/JD
- Joint MA in Latin American Studies/MBA
- PhD in Latin American Studies
- Joint PhD in Latin American Studies/Art History
The design of both the M.A. and Ph.D. curriculum in Latin American Studies is dependent upon the student’s particular research interests. While we welcome all qualified applicants interested in pursuing interdisciplinary research on Latin America, Tulane has developed significant faculty strengths in Economics, Politics & Society and Arts, Media, Culture & Politics. The Stone Center also has very strong regional expertise in Brazilian Studies and Cuban & Caribbean Studies. Prospective students apply for admission to the Latin American Studies graduate programs and the joint Art History doctoral program through the School of Liberal Arts. Joint program candidates must submit separate applications to both the School of Liberal Arts and either the School of Law or the School of Business.
For admissions this year, GRE scores are encouraged but not required for application to the graduate Latin American Studies programs. For more information, please fill out our inquiry form. All students must apply through the Graduate Admissions Application Portal unless otherwise indicated. Applications are due February 1, 2021 in order to be considered for fellowship funding.
