The Stone Center for Latin American Studies and Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Tulane University are proud to host acclaimed Brazilian author Luiz Ruffato for a talk titled Literatura e Invisibilidade on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 12:30 – 2:00 PM. Ruffato is the author of nine novels and several collections of poetry and essays, many of which have been translated for international audiences.

Nativo de Cataguazes MG, Luiz Ruffato é um dos maiores escritores brasileiros da atualidade. Autor de nove romances e vários livros de crônicas, ensaios e poesia, é também organizador de diversas coleneas literárias. Ganhou vários pramios literários como o Prêmio APCA de Melhor Romance para Eles eram muitos cavalos, Pramio Casa de las Américas para o romance Domingos Sem Deus, e o Pramio Jabuti para o livro infantil A história verdadeira do sapo Luiz. Em 2016, recebeu o Pramio Internacional Hermann Hesse.
