CIPR's 2019-'20 Post-Doctoral Fellows
The Center for Inter-American Policy and Research is excited to welcome our 2019-2020 post-doctoral fellows. Stefanie Israel de Souza, David De Micheli, and Rachel Schwartz will be joining us next week. Caitlin Andrews-Lee will join us later in the month. Xander Slaski will continue on in his second year at CIPR. Stefanie is a sociologist who received her Phd from the University of Notre Dame. Her scholarship lies at the intersection of global, urban, political, and cultural sociology and race, with an emphasis on shifting forms of state, criminal, and hybrid governance at the urban margins. David De Micheli is a political scientist who received his Phd in Government from Cornell University. His dissertation focused on the consequences of expanded access to higher education for racial politics and the development of political identities in Brazil. Rachel Schwartz received her Phd from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on the legacies of armed conflict, state building, and institutional change in Central America. Caitlin Andrews-Lee graduated from UT Austin with a Phd in Government in the fields of comparative politics and methodology. She specializes in political behavior and democratic development in Latin America. Her dissertation focused on charismatic political movements, specifically on Argentine Peronism and Venezuelan Chavismo.
We look forward to a productive year with all of our post-doctoral fellows and visiting scholars here at CIPR.
