Professor Martin Munroe is from Florida State University and specializes in Francophone Caribbean literature and culture. He is the author of: Shaping and Reshaping the Caribbean: The Work of Aimé Césaire and René Depestre. 2000 Exile and Post-1946 Haitian Literature: Alexis, Depestre, Ollivier, Laferrière, Danticat, 2007 Different Drummers: Rhythm and Race in the Americas, 2010. This lecture is sponsored by the Department of French and Italian. This event is free and open to the public. The lecture will be followed by a reception.
