PORTraits: Rachel Stein (Portuguese at Tulane Video Series)

November 24th, 2020

The PORTulane community is a vibrant collection of people that have diverse trajectories in the language and culture of the lusophone world. Join us weekly as we share a 2-minute video featuring one of the members of our community.

Rachel Stein is the Research and Instructional Librarian at the Latin American Library at Tulane, where, among other duties, she oversees collection development for Brazil. She learned Portuguese while studying for her doctorate at Columbia University; her research focuses on the printing of books on America, Africa, and Asia in 17th-century Lisbon.

Special thanks to Frida Melgar for her support in this project.
