January 3rd, 2019

Tulane School of Liberal Arts Professor of Anthropology and affiliate to the Stone Center for Latin American Studies Chris Rodning was recently interviewed by Julie Rose during her radio series Top of Mind. During the interview, Rodning discusses how early Spanish explorers built a series of forts throughout the Appalachian Mountains, stretching from modern-day North Carolina into Tennessee. Rodning was part of a team that carried out excavations at one of the forts in North Carolina to better understand why this particular Spanish expedition ultimately failed.
