Tulane Sociologist David Smilde Discusses the Venezuelan Economy with the New York Times

Dr. David Smilde, the Charles A. and Leo M. Favrot Professor of Human Relations and Senior Associate Fellow at the Center for Inter-American Policy and Research at Tulane University, recently spoke with The New York Times, and commented on the Venezuelan economy and the virtual currency backed by the nation’s vast petroleum reserves. Smilde notes that the virtual currency is likely to suffer the same fate as the Venezuelan debt.
