Dr. Robert Arellano, Professor and Professor and Director of the Center for Emerging Media and Digital Arts at the University of Southern Oregon, presents a talk titled “Stairway to Heaven: AIDS and Resistance in Cuba’s Friki Generation”

Dr. Arellano is the author of six novels, including Sunshine ’69, the first interactive novel published on the internet in 1996. In 2000, he organized Rock the Blockade, which broad a group of artists and musicians to Cuba for a series of concerts.

Co-sponsored by Cuban and Caribbean Studies, the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Free and open to the public.
