Originally from Athens, Ohio, Alejandra earned her B.A. in Political Science from Ohio University. Collectively, she has lived abroad for 8 years in Spain, France, and Latin America, and speaks English, Spanish, and French. In 2015, she was a volunteer for OU’s Tropical Disease Institute in an effort to cure Chagas Disease in the south of Ecuador. She has an interest in public health and in neglected infections of poverty. She also has a focus in Chile, specifically in the urban migration of the Mapuche population into city-centers like Santiago and how current laws impede their upward mobility.
