The author will highlight key events in the partnership between the Cuban revolutionary government and the country’s celebrated artists, musicians and writers, and discuss the wide-scale changes that economic restructuring and new political priorities are likely to produce in the cultural sector. Alex Fleites is a poet, screenwriter, art curator, narrator, and journalist. He has served as editor-in-chief of El Caimán Barbudo and other emblematic Cuban publications, and for several years directed the cultural page of Juventud Rebelde. Admission is free and open to the public.
