The Greenleaf Distinguished Visiting Scholar is the Stone Center’s newest program to advance research and scholarly exchanges at the university. This invited visiting research scholar is intended to support and expand areas of strategic interest to faculty affiliated with the Stone Center and to contribute to the intellectual life of their disciplinary department and the Center. They are expected to participate in lectures, conferences, and other events organized by the Stone Center.
Nominations will be received by the Executive Committee of the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. Where reserved funds are available, nominations will be evaluated and awarded based on intellectual merits of the candidates and the potential impact of the research initiative. Initiatives might include but not be limited to participation in undergraduate or graduate seminars, the planning or hosting of workshops or lectures, or joint research or editorial projects.
Appointment as the Richard Greenleaf Visiting Scholar will carry a fixed stipend; expectation will be for two weeks to one month during the academic year. Extended stays beyond a month will be considered.
