New Orleans and Latin America: Feeling Right at Home

Six years after immigration spike in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, a new and growing Latino population is adapting to life in New Orleans, building new neighborhoods, schools and businesses. Long-standing cultural parallels between New Orleans and Latin America have these new residents feeling right at home, and many are deciding to alter their plans and stay in the Big Easy. Two Tulane students discover what is holding together these new Latino communities in New Orleans. Produced by Tanner Woods and John Harper. Fall 2011. 7:51.
