Second Annual Latin Jazz Fest

December 10th, 2011
9:00 PM

3016 S. Carrollton Ave.

The Latin Jazz Fest is an annual event organized by Casa Borrega to celebrate the Latin American influence on jazz. New Orleans’ rich historical connection to Latin America was a catalyst for the fusion of jazz with Latin sounds. Some of the best local talent in the genre will be playing at the Festival. Come hear the Charanga of Mas Mamones, the Afro Cuban beat of Otra, the Nuyorican sounds of Influencia de Jazz, and some Brazilian Bossa Nova from Riccardo Crespo. Other featured vocalists are Hondurans Fredy Omar and Paky Saavedra. There will be lots of dancing on Rock-n-Bowl’s beautiful floor. In the future look for national and international acts at the event. Cover is $10.
