SLA Faculty Receive Grants and Fellowships for the 2011-2012 Academic Year
June 1st, 2011
By: Dean Carole Haber
As we come to the close of another extremely successful academic year, I want to take this opportunity to highlight some of the grants won this year by our faculty. If you follow the “News from the Field,” you already know that the faculty members of SLA are involved in amazing research and creative activities. From the streets of New Orleans to the far-flung reaches of the world, they are involved in projects as wide ranging as the School itself. They are combing historic archives, exploring the impact of environmental change, producing astonishing works of art, and even teaching the world to dance. Upon returning to Tulane, they will then bring their research back into the classroom to engage the imagination and hone the skills of their students. As the recipients of highly competitive grants, they received these grants on the basis of the quality of their proposed work and their reputations as outstanding scholars and artists. I know you join me, then, in congratulating the individuals listed below on their impressive awards.
