Eric Zolov Lecture: "Thinking Anew About the New Left in 1960s Latin America"

Eric Zolov is Associate Professor of History at Franklin and Marshall College. His research focuses on Mexico, U.S.-Latin American relations, and popular culture. He is the author of Refried Elvis: The Rise of the Mexican Counterculture (1999) and co-editor of Latin America and the United States: A Documentary History (2000), Fragments of a Golden Age: The Politics of Popular Culture in Mexico Since 1940 (2000), and Rockin’ Las Américas: The Global Politics of Rock in Latin/o America (2004), the first interdisciplinary collection to explore the diversity of rock music cultures throughout the Americas. Since 2008 he has served as Editor of The Americas: A Quarterly Review of Inter-American Cultural History.

This summer, join us for La hora del cuenta bilingual readings series at the Pebbles Centers of the New Orleans Public Libraries!

On the first and last Saturday of every month, we will read a bilingual book at the Algiers Regional Library and the Children’s Resource Center Library beginning on Saturday April 28 until Saturday, August 25. Children and parents welcome!
