CIPR Post-Doc Moira MacKinnon Speaks at NASA

As part of several events closing out National Hispanic Heritage Month at Tulane University, CIPR Post-Doc Moira MacKinnon in coordination with the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, presented a talk at the NASA Stennis Space Center in South Mississippi on Wednesday, October 14 titled “The Historical Roots of Democracy: Chile, Argentina and the “Social Question”, 1900-1930.”

NASA engineers, members of the Environmental Protection Agency, the Naval Research Station, the U.S. Armed Forces and more attended to learn about how the Chilean and Argentine Congress dealt with social conflict by passing social legislation at the beginning of the 20th century, the focus of Dr. MacKinnon’s presentation.
