Seth Magden

Student - M.A. Candidate

A native of Wickenburg, Arizona, Seth Magden joined the Stone Center’s M.A. program in 2009. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Arizona, having double majored in Spanish and Political Science. He completed an independent study abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2003 and has traveled in Mexico, Dominica, Antigua, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Seth has worked as a FEMA Housing Inspector and with the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity.

During the summer of 2010, he completed a Tinker Foundation-funded research projected entitled “Watch Out for Falling Prices! Evaluating the Expansion of Walmart de Mexico.” Seth’s key research interests include sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, emerging markets in Latin America, regional trade, poverty and inequality, global health, social programs, labor, and transnational capitalism.
