Renan Quinalha is a leading LGBT activist from São Paulo, Brazil. He is the co-author, with James Green, of the chapter on dictatorial repression of sexual minorities in the final report of Brazil‘€™s National Truth Commission as well as an editor of the volume Ditadura e homossexualidades: repressão, resistência e a busca da verdade (EdUFSCar, 2014). Quinalha also worked on the São Paulo State Truth Commission from 2012 to 2014, during which time he published an influential study on transitional justice, Justiça de transição: contornos do conceito (Expressão Popular, 2013). He is currently completing a PhD in International Relations at the University of São Paulo.

The talk will be in Portuguese.
