August 10th, 2015

The Latin American Resource Center’s Lending Library is a special resource available for free to all K-16 educators across the country. It holds over 4000 films and other interactive resources for use in the classroom. The Lending Library has been loaning out its resources for over 25 years. Thanks to a U.S. Department of Education Title VI National Resource Center grant, our collection of films provide invaluable insight into the diversity of Latin America. The Lending Library holds classic film of Latin America, contemporary films, indigenous and environmental film, film un-distributed in the United States, classic Latin American telenovelas and more.

Read about some recommended films from Latin Americanist scholar, Harry E. Vanden. Bringing Latin America to Life with Films in the Classroom by Harry E. Last Fall 2014, the University of Florida’s Center for Latin American Studies donated its film collection to the Lending Library. There are many important films to be discovered in our collection.   • Review the appropriate Borrowing Policies;
  • Search for items in the lending library catalog;
  • Start adding items to your request list, ‘€œview‘€ request list and submit the form as directed. You must agree to the borrowing policies in order to submit the form.
  • Once your request is submitted, you will see a message that says ‘€œYour request has been submitted.‘€ Also, a copy of your request will be sent to your email address for your own records.
