A Talk by Alan Knight-"Total War: Mexico and Europe 1914-15"

March 19th, 2015
4:00 PM

Location
Jones Hall 204-G

Next Thursday, March 19th, at 4 pm, Alan Knight (Emeritus, Oxford) will be delivering a public talk in Jones Hall 204G. Knight, one of the foremost historians of Mexico, will draw on military and demographic analysis to argue that, in Mexico as in Europe, total war profoundly affected society, leaving a legacy of violence, veteran activism, and an incipient ‘social pact’ that underpinned the social reform and state-building of the 1920s and ’30s.

If there are any faculty or graduate students interested in attending a small reception following the talk, please contact Melanie Huska (mhuska@tulane.edu).
