Dr. Marcello A. Canuto, Director of the Middle-American Research Institute, will present on his recent research in a talk titled: “A Multi-scalar Approach to the Collapse of the Classic Maya Political System: New Data, New Paradigm?” Dr. Canuto will discuss his research at the Maya site of La Corona and how it applies to the broader political systems of the ancient Maya.

M.A.R.I.‘s Brown Bag talk series is meant to provide a venue for students and faculty focusing on topics related to Mesoamerica to discuss their latest research in an informal and friendly setting.
