Enlaces Américas Podcast Series Highlights NOLA/Mexico Relations

December 5th, 2014

Students in Professor Casey Love’s Mexican Politics class have been exploring New Orleans’ relationship with Mexico through the Enlaces Américas audio podcast project. These podcasts will be airing starting this Monday, December 8th at 8:00 am and Wednesday at 8:00 am on WTUL 91.5 FM or online at wtulneworleans.com>. New Orleans is the first city in the world to open a Mexican consulate. The history of the consulate is explored in podcasts airing on Monday morning as well as Mexico’s growth in the oil industry. Wednesday’s podcasts will focus on the consulate’s role in the Louisiana criminal justice system and the important voting program conducted through their office. Enlaces Américas develops podcasts each semester to provide in-depth insight on Latin America from a New Orleans perspective.
