In that eventful period in the history of Mexico, General Melgar served in a variety of political posts at the national and regional level. More details on Professor Garcíadiego's talk will be forthcoming as the date approaches.

This is the initial event honoring the Memorandum of Understanding between El Colegio de México and Tulane University signed in October 2011.

It is jointly sponsored by the Center for Inter-American Policy (CIPR) and The Latin American Library.
